A&E Custom Homes was founded by Andy Bader and Ed Montanez in December 2008. Andy grew up in Philadelphia, PA where he entered the construction industry working with his dad doing finish trim work and custom cabinetry in their family owned business. His family moved to Melbourne, FL in 2003 where Andy worked with his uncle building custom homes. In 2004, Andy accepted a position working for a builder in Viera where he managed various new home construction projects. While working for this builder, Andy met and worked with Ed Montanez.
Ed Montanez, originally from New York, moved to Brevard County, Florida in 1980 when his father was transferred to Patrick Air Force Base in Satellite Beach. Ed entered the construction industry in 1994 when he worked for a local contractor doing various types of pool construction, concrete work, and various stages of construction. He continued working in the construction industry while attending college and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from Florida State University. After college, Ed worked in the area of finance and investments for about 5 years in Orlando, FL. In 2005, Ed decided to move back to Brevard County to be close to family and re-entered the construction industry working for a builder in Viera where he met and worked with Andy Bader. Over the next 5 years, he managed various residential and commercial construction projects and obtained his Florida Certified General Contractor License.
While working together, Andy and Ed came up with the idea that if they were to combine their strong and unique skill sets that they could create something great. This combined skill set is what laid the foundation for what A&E Custom Homes has become today. Andy and Ed have always personally managed all construction activities on every home built by A&E. "We strive to build homes inspired by our customers' visions. We have built our business, our process and our features around what our customers have asked us for over time. Our business is always changing and always will. We welcome these changes as we continue to grow and consider ourselves very fortunate to do what we love doing. We have created efficiencies internally that allow us to spend the time required in the field to ensure that every customer receives a home built with pride."
